Located on 810 Hwy O, the Rolla SDA Church campus is home to the Stepping Stones Child Care Center, the Rolla SDA Church School (K-8), a Community Room, and a place where all are welcome to come and worship each Saturday morning.
Pastor Rodney Osborne, Jr. was born in Columbus, OH. When he was 11 years old, he preached his very first sermon, and was baptized on the same day. However, he did not understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and began to drift away from the faith.
During his junior year of college at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), while at his lowest point, a friend shared the book "Steps to Christ" with Rodney. This was the turning point in his life, and he began to get serious about his relationship with God. This led him to get involved with Adventist Students for Christ at RIT, and before he knew it, he was leading the organization as President, giving Bible studies, and helping other students to experience the joy of a personal relationship with Christ.
Through these experiences, Rodney sensed God calling him into full-time ministry. He enrolled at the Andrews University SDA Theological Seminary in August 2013, and completed his studies in the Master of Divinity program in August 2017. It was during this time that he met his wife, Monique, and they were married in December 2016. Monique has since graduated with her Bachelor's in Nursing from Andrews University, and enjoys reading, traveling, cooking vegan dishes, and conducting health presentations.
Pastor Rodney and Monique accepted the call to the Iowa-Missouri Conference in November 2017, and began their pastoral ministry in Rolla on May 15, 2018. They are excited to bring their experience and talents in the areas of campus ministries, community outreach, and health evangelism to the Rolla SDA Church, and are excited about what the future holds!
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.
Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
